On Tuesday, Adam Levine denied cheating on his expecting wife, Behati Prinsloo, with an Instagram model. The model said that she was pressured to admit to their connection because a tabloid was ready to print a story about it.
Levine wrote, “I did not have an affair,” in a statement that was shared on Instagram. He did not, however, address Sumner Stroh’s more alarming assertion that he had spoken to her about naming his future child after her.
The 43-year-old Maroon 5 frontman’s only admission in his statement was that he used “poor judgement in conversing with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner.” “I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life,” he further said.
Levine continued, “In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it. And we will get through it together.”
In response to two TikTok videos that Stroh, 23, posted on Monday, Levine made a statement.
In the more recent video, which was published early on Monday evening, Stroh revealed that a friend had attempted to give the tabloid the information about her relationship with Levine. She said it was the reason she came forward earlier on Monday to accuse Prinsloo, a Victoria’s Secret model with whom he is expecting his third child, of being disloyal.
“I only came forward to kill whatever story the tabloid had,” In her subsequent TikTok video, which has received more than 4.1 million likes, Stroh made this statement. Stoh, 23, added that she wasn’t speaking out to gain sympathy and that she “completely” understands she isn’t “the victim” in this circumstance.
“I’m not the one who’s getting hurt here,” Stroh said. “That’s Behati and her children and for that, I’m so, so sorry.”
Stroh claimed that she and Levine had a year-long, covert romance in her first TikTok video, which has received more than 14 million likes. She submitted a screenshot of a DM he most recently sent her from his verified Instagram account, a few months after she said they had broken up, to support her claim.
Levine informed her in the DM that he was expecting a second child and requested if he might name his next son “Sumner” in her honour if he was a boy.
“You OK with that?” Levine asked. “DEAD serious.”
Stroh claimed that the highly tattooed singer’s request shocked her. Levine and Prinsloo informed People magazine and other publications two weeks prior that they were expecting their third child together. Daughters Gio Grace, 4, and Dusty Rose, 5, were already born to the couple, who have been married since 2014.
According to The Cut, Levine’s purported request to name his unborn child after his former mistress raises the uncomfortable factor associated with celebrity baby names to “a whole new level.”
When Stroh first arrived in Los Angeles and met the wealthy, powerful elder star who is also a TV personality and a former coach for “The Voice,” she described herself in both films as a young, naive, aspiring model. Stroh described how Levine pretended to be unhappy in his marriage in order to adopt the tried-and-true seduction tactic of the married man.
“I was under the impression that their marriage was over and I thought they were keeping it quiet to avoid negative press,” Stroh said. “I assumed that with celebrities of that caliber that’s how it was.”
Stroh claimed that Levine “exploited” her and “easily manipulated” her, and she wished she hadn’t been “so naïve.”
But, Stroh added, “being naïve isn’t an excuse for the role I played in this.” Overall, Stroh said she feels “embarrassed” and “disgusted” with herself for getting into this situation with Levine.
