‘The Rock’ Dwayne Johnson is celebrating Brendan Fraser’s comeback to the big screen.

After making history in the WWE, Johnson praised his “Mummy Returns” co-star Fraser for helping him establish his own cinematic career. Following Fraser’s standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival premiere of “The Whale,” in which Fraser plays a 600-pound instructor, the “Black Adam” actor tweeted in support of Fraser.

Johnson added, “Man, this makes me so glad to watch this lovely ovation for Brendan.” He encouraged me to take my first job in his ‘Mummy Returns‘ franchise, which launched my Hollywood career. I’m rooting for your success in all areas, brother, and I’m happy for my friend Darren Aronofsky. #TheWhale”

The Mummy Returns stars Johnson as the Scorpion King in 2001, and in 2002, he got his own spinoff movie based on his own persona. With “Walking Tall,” “Be Cool,” “Doom,” “Gridiron Gang,” and “Get Smart,” his career afterwards took off. Next, Johnson will co-star with Chris Evans in “Red One,” play the lead role in Robert Zemeckis’ “The King,” a biopic of King Kamehameha of Hawaii, and take the lead in Shane Black’s superhero movie “Doc Savage.” Johnson will also play the lead in the “Big Trouble in Little China” adaptation.

Regarding his return run, Fraser will be recognised for the father-daughter drama produced by A24 and directed by Darren Aronofsky, which also stars Sadie Sink, at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022. According to TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey, Canadian-American actor Fraser will be honoured for his “power and subtlety” in “The Whale” performance.

Bailey observed of Fraser, “This former Torontonian has been an action star, a film funny, and a romantic lead.” He was the actor behind one of the best performances of the year, and we are pleased to bring him home.

Fraser changed into a reclusive English professor trying to get in touch with his daughter, who is in high school (Sink).

Fraser recently stated of the position, “I want to learn from the folks I’m working with at this stage in my career. In the second half of my time doing this, I want to feel like I’m contributing to the art and learning from it since I’ve experienced such a wide range of highs and lows. This is a fantastic chance. I yearned to blend into it. I hoped to fade away and become unrecognisable.

I wanted to know what I could do, he continued.
