Fasnachts have landed in Schuylkill County. A traditional Pennsylvania Dutch donut, fasnachts are eaten the day before the Christian Lenten season begins, historically intended to use up any spare eggs, sugar, butter and in some cases, potato flour, left in one’s stores.
