Team World will arrive to the Laver Cup 2022 hoping for their first victory in any of the five previous editions, an underdog victory based on world rankings, and the chance to be the villains in Roger Federer’s final match.

Federer declared last week that the showpiece in London, an ATP event envisioned as the tennis equivalent of the Ryder Cup in golf, will be his final competitive match.

Federer has participated in the Laver Cup three times before, and on each occasion he has been ranked no lower than third, but this time the 41-year-old from Switzerland does not have a rating as he competes for Team Europe among players like Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud.

The Laver Cup 2022 schedule, participant list, and ticket purchasing information are provided below.

When is the Laver Cup in 2022?

The Laver Cup 2022 will be held at the O2 Arena in London. The action began at 1 p.m. BST on Friday, September 23, and will last till Sunday.

Federer’s final competitive encounter will be in the doubles on Friday evening, partnering Rafael Nadal, one of the only players who can equal his place in tennis history, having won 22 Grand Slam titles.

On the last day, which begins at 12 p.m. BST on Sunday, September 25, there will be no night session.

Who will compete in the Laver Cup 2022?

Team Europe 2022 is led by Bjorn Borg, with Thomas Enqvist serving as vice-captain. Team World 2022 is led by John McEnroe, with Patrick McEnroe serving as his deputy.

The Laver Cup website states that while multi-session tickets are no longer available, single session tickets are still available from the resale website AXS.

Laver Cup tickets for 2022

Single session tickets for the Friday action originally cost anywhere from £18 ($20) to £385 ($436).

Other days’ single tickets ranged in price from £40 ($45) to $510 ($578). There were also tickets for a practise day on September 22 that ranged in price from £22.50 ($25.50) to £35 ($40).
